Dedicated Volunteer, Chris Grauer, Passes Away

With heavy hearts we share the sad news that Chris Grauer passed away.

Chris was a dedicated Volunteer with the Soupateria for over 30 years.

He was a selfless, kind and humble man and will be missed so much.

A Team Leader, cooking for those in need every week for decades, cooking the annual special Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners.

Chris was our purchaser, he sliced the meat for our many sandwiches served daily and picked up donations at local grocery stores.

We all enjoyed Chris’s company, especially visiting at coffee time. What a great sense of humor he had!

Chris had the desire to help people as there are so many in need and he said:

“Always think about those that need a hand.”

Chris was a giving soul and helping gave him great joy.

Chris also volunteered endlessly at the Naramata Center, Critteraid and the Gleaners.

In 2011, Chris was presented with the BC Community Achievement Award by the Lieutenant Governor and Deputy Premier in Victoria.

Chris will be dearly remembered by his family and all the many people whose lives he touched.

❤️Rest in Peace, Chris ❤️

Your legacy will be the ongoing generous support for those in need.
